Thanks in part to a wonderful team of parents who make up the PTO and YOU, we budget over $60,000 per year on the three elementary schools in the Alma district!
The Spring PTO Fun Run
Don't like selling? We've got the answer - the Spring PTO Fun Run! Rather than ask families and friends to purchase something, participants solicit simple flat-rate "pledges" from families and friends. This incentive-based fundraiser has been incredibly successful, and last year we raised over $50,000! At the completion of the fundraiser is the Fun Run activity. The "track" will be at each of the schools, and on the day of the Fun Run, each classroom will run/walk for about 20 - 30 minutes while jamming to some cool tunes! This is done on a school day and during school hours so we can ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate.
If you would like to help out with organizing our Spring PTO Fun Run, please contact Jeff Turk via email or call 989-285-5825.
You'd be surprised how much we've earned with these programs - over $3000 in the 2017-2018 academic year! We need volunteers to organize the counting and returning of box tops and labels for each school, and of course some help with counting.
If you are interested in volunteering with the labels, please contact Kim Jensen via email.

The Alma Elementary PTO has Joined the Reuse Movement! We're signed up for ShoeBox Recycling! It’s an amazing community service fundraising opportunity where you we can actually recycle your old shoes. We're spreading the message that ‘worn is not worn out’ and hopefully connecting with people around the globe through the magic of a SoleMate note. Just like the old ‘message in a bottle,’ only now the vessel is your shoes that you no longer wear.
ShoeBox Recycling sends us boxes to fill, pays for all shipping costs, gives us the chance to meet our SoleMates AND they pay $0.50 per pound for good, reusable and re-wearable shoes that we collect. So send those shoes into school!
Go to www.shoeboxrecycling.com to learn more about the ShoeBox recycling movement. Please do not send in winter boots, ski boots, flip-flops or Uggs.
We are always looking for good ways to raise funds! To share your idea, come to a meeting or submit it here!
